Thai Food Hangovers

Last night was pretty hilarious. I was supposed to go to a surprise birthday party for one of my friends. Her husband set it up while he was away on business. He planned for them going to the ballet with another couple, then meeting up at a nice restaurant where the rest of us would suprise her, then go out to a club afterwords - and have a table reserved. The thought was nice. The execution didn't really go as planned. The birthday girl didn't show up. That's right. She stayed home.

Hilarity ensued.

We all went out and celebrated her birthday without her. It was pretty fun. Except finding a cab on the way home. I was pretty toasted by the end of the night. I woke up still a little drunk. Then I had to go to my piano lesson - right on the edge of sobriety and hang over. It was not my finest hour. I didn't explain to my teacher why I was so aweful. I couldn't even play scales properly.

I watched the rest of season four of Weeds and ate thai food. Man I love thai food. Especially when hung over. It's way more delicious. Weeds is an awesome TV show. I would totally recommend it. I wish it was on Hulu though...

I heard a rumor that Califorincation is going to be on youtube. That will be awesome.

Last night was a bit weird because we had this discussion about what everyone's favorite TV shows were. I like watching TV. But I'm not going to move around my schedule to do so. So if I can't find it on the interwebs - I'm not going to watch it. I probably have about one show a season that I watch on a regular basis. Apparently some people watch a lot more than that - they have multiple shows in the same season and have certain nights of the week that they set aside to watch TV. I was intrigued. I just wonder how people find time to do it. I barely have enough time to feed myself (though you wouldn't know by looking at me.) I have no idea how people are that dedicated.

I kind of want to be dedicated to a TV show now. I mean - it takes some real commitment to watch a TV show when it airs every week. You have to be home at that time and remember to turn on a TV and you have to sit through the entire thing in one setting. I want to be that committed to something.

I think that's why I like movies better. There's not as much of a time committment involved. WIth TV shows - if you watch the whole season - or most of it in one lazy hung over sunday - you kind of get tired of the show a bit and are kind of glad when it's over.
