New Years Resolutions v2.0
Instead of talking about my new years resolutions for this year. I thought that I'd reflect on mine from two years ago or what I thought I would be doing. I didn't really make any last year - and got little accomplished in 07 - so I'll compare what I did in o8 to what I thought I would do in 07 - I'm just slightly delayed. I thought about things like running a marathon, which was going okay - until I screwed up my knee and it still hasn't recovered fully :-( I never got any closer to writing a novel that I did in writting in this blog everyday. I thought I did pretty well in terms of posting this year. I did it pretty regularly with only a few times of not posting for more than a couple days.
I did find a new job and I did move - but to a cold city - not a warm one. At least I achieved part of that goal. I did take an awesome vacation to the Grand Canyon/Arizona/Vegas. It was way fun - white water rafting was the best. I haven't really volunteered anywhere. I keep trying to find places but it's either something I don't fully support or don't agree with their approach and therefore know it's not going to last long. Or they want a crazy commitment that is not going to happen. I have found a new hobby this year - glassblowing. It's pretty awesome. I'm getting better at it. I have in now way started biking or even gotten close to a bike race. I'm totally okay with this.
I'm thinking this year I should be goal oriented. Like check of 3 things from my bucket list I haven't done yet. One hard one - and two easy ones. Other things - like I want to continue with my current budget and savings plan that I started this year so that I can save for a house that I want. I want to find another new hobby. If nothing else in this life - if I died tomorrow - I would want people to think of me as an interesting person. Not necessarily someone to be remembered - but someone worth knowing.
I want to take an interesting vacation this year. Do something I'm scared of - conquer a fear. I also think I need to expand my circle of friends - find people with similar interests - learn more about people and the human condition, have a wider group of people do go do stuff with, etc.
Generally staying employed and making money is also going to be a goal.
Anyone have any interesting suggestions?
