So hot...

It's 8pm and like 90 degrees out. I hate this humidity. I thought it was supposed to rain or something and make it less horrible. Apparently not.

My tomato plants are starting to get flowers!!!!!!! I'm so excited.

My brain hurts from work. Literally hurts. I think it needs some juice. Or at least a pitcher for me to make juice. Maybe I should go buy one of those. . .

It was a good 4th weekend, went to stay at a lake in upstate NY. We also went to a James Taylor concert. I had no idea who James Taylor was, nor do I really know now who he is. And most of the other songs I didn't know. When they said James Taylor - I was thinking of James Brown. Clearly not the same mix. It was okay - it's always an interesting an uncomfortable weekend when Jess's mom is around. Uncomfortable in the sense that you always feel like you are under a microscope being judged and typically found not to be good enough. If you ask to help out when she's folding towels, she'll let you help, but then before you are even out of the room to go do something else she is re-folding them because they weren't done how she wanted it done. But of course she doesn't tell you to begin with how she likes you to fold the towels. She micro-manages everything. I grew up in a place where as long as it got done no one complained. Her world is full of regrets of not doing something right and having to do everything perfectly. It's an uncomfortable world. It's hard to relax when the other people around you aren't relaxed. Everything in her world is much more difficult and filled with more decisions than my world. I think I like my world better. She might have a nicer car - but then she lets everyone know how 'wonderful' it is. I also like occasionally eating junk food. I think she was about to shoot some daggers out of her eyes when I ate some wheat thins instead of the weird cherries and snap peas .... it was a strange combo. No one knew what to do about it. I ate the snap peas, tiff ate the cherries. It was odd.
