Sleepless ha!
I had a crazy couple of days and I'm finally starting to recover. Thursday at about 3pm I found out that I had to go to Florida on Friday morning, 6am flight, to go fix something that no one really had any idea what was wrong. So I hopped on my 6am flight got down there about 12:30, fixed the crap out of stuff until 6:30, then ran back to the airport as quickly as traffic would allow for my 8pm flight. I thought that I was pushing it a bit b/c I had stuff to check, but my flight was actually delayed until about 9pm, so I had plenty of time to grab some pizza and drink in the airport bar. I love airport drinking. It's always nice to grab a couple of beers after a trip.
By the time I got back home it was about 1am. Having gotten up at 4am to catch my 6am flight, I was pretty tired, but couldn't sleep b/c I was so wired after such a crazy day. So it was probably 3:30 ish before I feel asleep. When I woke up at 8am!!! to a bright sunny day, I was super pissed and exhausted. I ate something then feel back asleep by about 10am - and actually slept till about 6pm. That was nice. That was the first time in about a week that I slept more than about 3 or 4 hours. I felt better, but really tired at the same time. I was up for a few hours, before going to be at about 10:30. Man did I sleep well last night. I feel a million times better and ready to go out and get shit done today, and ready to go negotiate hard on Monday.
I'm still hopeful that this place that gave me an offer is really willing to go up quite a bit in terms of salary, stock options, and vacation days. If we can't reach a reasonable offer, then I'll just have to turn it down. It really does sound like a great opportunity and a job that I would really enjoy, but I'm also not willing to work that far under my market value to be able to do so. Maybe this is just a test of my negotiation skills... we'll see. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.
With all the chai tea lattes I've been drinking lately I've finally gone and bought the concentrate from the grocery store. At starbucks a large chai is about 4.5 - 5.0, I can buy the entire container of concentrate for that - and get the organic kind to boot. (Not that organic really means anything - but some people say its healthier. I don't really buy into it, but I figure that it can't really harm me either to buy it. Plus I have no idea where to find the non-organic concentrate in the grocery store.)
I talked to my mom yesterday and I think that she really nailed on why I have so many digestive issues - it's because of my crazy eating schedule and the sometimes lack of good things to eat. I think for eating on the road I do a pretty healthy job of it. I make sure to get in my fresh fruit and fresh veggies everyday. But I also do stuff like have Starbucks at 5am at the airport before my flight, then not eat until 8pm when I get back to the airport in Florida. Then eating pizza and beer. Not the healthiest of options - but man did it taste good. She suggest taking a protein bar or something with me in my bag, and I think I'm going to have to do that. If doing something so simple and stop all of the craziness - I'm all for it.
I'm off to the store to get some halogen light bulbs, toilet paper, a new bedside lamp (when it heats up it won't turn off anymore... it's really strange), and maybe some protein bars.
