Lots O' Updates
One of my friends from high school just knocked up his wife. And by just knocked up - I mean like three months ago. Guess what they were doing during some winter storm? Bow chica wow wow!
We are kind of getting to that point in life were people are starting to have babies. I really used to hate the idea of babies. They cry, eat, poop, cry some more. But they are really cute too. I'm still debating the pros and cons.
I negotiated some more on Friday with the company. They upped the salary, stock options, and vacation to the point where it is actually not a ridiculous offer. Plus, I know have an upside. Not too bad for an hour's work over coffee. I'm excited.
Jess gave me a really great book for understanding some of the psychology that happens at work. What Men Don't Tell Women About Business was actually pretty insightful. It did a good job of explaining how people self-sabotage. Essentially explaining the unwritten social rules of the business game; and what people are thinking when certain events take place. If you can get insides someones head - then you can figure out how to make it a win-win situation. If you don't know what they are thinking - it's hard to reconfigure to make it a win for anyone other than yourself; and they just think that you are out to screw them. I'm sure some people would find some of the writing a little offensive - but useful none the less.
