Moving Day!
The movers came today. They were a little late because it was so cold here the fuel line in their truck kept freezing. Slightly delayed - but not too bad. Everything got moved in - now I just have to unpack - but I don't think that is really going to happen until I get back from Israel. There's just too much stuff to deal with right now. I need to buy a bookcase (or two) to put everything in as well. I haven't fully unpacked my car either. It's just not going to get done tonight.
At least everything came. Nothing major was damaged. They did put a hole through that fiberous stuff on the bottom of my couch on their first attempt to get it up the stairs. There was also a very small chip off of the TV stand. I think if I would have done it there would have been even more damaged goods. So, all in all they did a really great job. I would definitely recommend them. I would also recommend hiring movers to move the stuff - especially when you're moving to a third floor apartment. One of the guys that moved me out in Rochester moved my stuff in here. He was laughing because the move out was so easy - and the move in was much more difficult. Note to self: just pay other people to do the hard work.
The second day at work was pretty uneventful. I got in quite late - and then basically just got everything ready to go for the trip. I do have to run to this guy's house though to pick up his pre-paid cell phone that will work in Israel - that way I will have a cell phone that people can call while I'm there. It will make it much easier. Now I just have to drive 20 minutes to go pick it up. *Sigh*
I did get a voltage converter on the way home today.
I took some pictures of my new room - I just need to upload them yet. Depending on how tired I am I might do it after I get to Israel.
Tonight will be very nice - to be able to sleep in my own room for a night. I'll have to go shopping for a bookcase, magnetic strip for knives in the kitchen, and potentially a desk. Not sure about the desk yet. The bookcase is really the big thing- and then figure out where I can put all the kitchen crap that I have. Because I really have a ton of it. Thank god I will get to sleep in a real bed for one night at least.
