Middle of Nowhere
Work has really sucked it up the last few days. I'm so behind that I'm to the point of just giving up on anything that hasn't gotten done - wipe the slate clean and just start over. There's no way that I can go back and actually accomplish everything and keep up with the current influx. I thought August was supposed to be slow! How foolish of me! I guess I'm really frustrated not only by the company but by myself as well. I'm not interested or engaged anymore - which is really not at all satisfying.
I'm still struggling with what I want to do with my life. On a whim - I applied for a job in Boston tonight. I haven't really seriously done any job searching for a while. This all on the eve of our yearly reviews...hahaha irony at its best. I'd love to move back to Boston - but I also want my current company to get bought out.... it's such an internal struggle. I'm bored out of my mind in Rochester - and I would love to move back to Boston - so it sounded like a good idea at the time. I think I'd be a good match for the position - but who knows what they are actually looking for. It's another start up company. I think I have a not-so secret love of start-ups.
WTF is up with all the earthquakes lately? It's the world is being shaken by an invisible giant! Hawaii, Peru, that place in asia somewhere.... flipping crazy. Note that I did not include the mine that collapsed. The mining company claims the collapse was caused by an earthquake - the geologist say that there was no earthquake - just shaking due to the mine collapse. I have a feeling the geologists might be right.
On a really off topic conversation - why the hell do we still circumcise boys? It seems so crazy. There's not a good medical reason - just the opposite actually. Why the hell isn't it as illegal as female circumcision? It seems just as wrong to me.
