Crazy Week

I went out to dinner last night with some people at work. I had a long conversation/argument with our CEO about whether or not Snape was evil or good. After re-reading HP6 in Vegas - and with some of the clues that JKR gave - I'm now convinced that Snape is in fact evil. I think the tipping point was that Dumbledore looked truely suprised to see Snape - and actually started to beg Snape. Dumbledore clearly did not expect Snape to do the job. Our CEO was convinced that there is a bigger reason for Dumbledore trusting Snape. But Sirius revealed that the reason that Dumbledore trusted Snape was because Snape said that he was sorry that HP's parents died and felt bad about his actions as a DeathEater. That was it!! WTF was Dumbledore thinking??? I think that Snape has a much deeper reason for hating HP's father - something that hasn't been revealed yet - and in turn has always held a grudge against HP's family b/c of that.

I still can't decide if I think that Harry is a Horcrux. It's a distinct possibility in my mind - but it seems a bit too obvious for JKR.

The CEO is convinced that HP can't defeat Voldemort on his own - and that he has to have help - and that help is most obviously Snape. I think that if he's going to get help it's going to be from more unlikely sources - like McGonanagal, Hagrid, Tonks etc. I think that the seventh book will really be where Ron shines and finally mans up. Look at what happened when Ron finally got out of his own head when playing Quidditch - he did really well. I think the same will be true for him when helping Harry fight Voldemort.

Tomorrow we have our quarterly state of the company address and the company picnic. Which basically means that it will be work for about two hours - then screwing around for the rest of the day. I'm actually crossing my fingers hoping that it will rain so that I can go home earlier and then go get a haircut.

Hopefully I'll be able to stay at Josh's place on Friday night after work so that I don't have to drive all the way to Toledo on Friday. But Lauren's shower is at like 1pm - so I'm still going to have to get up early and leave to truck it back to Toledo before the shower. I went out and bought a gift after running tonight. I totally see a theme going with this gift. Now I only need to get some cow and elephant wrapping paper.... I wonder if Lauren has any of those Ms. Cow and Mr. Elephant stories still. I can't even remember everything that they were about anymore... I think there was an affair with Ms. Giraffee or something????

Joshy! Where are you? Are you in Cleveland this weekend? Can I come and meet Amanda? (that's her name right??) Where did you go???!?! Are you playing WoW again? Please IM me!?!?! I think I'm still on west coast time and I'm all screwed up still - I'm just sleepy and have too much work to do.

Ok so my response(s) in order.

1) I think snape is a good guy and i agree with your boss. The two theories both have something to say about Dumbledores begging and the one i subscribe to is the one that says he was begging in a way to say protect harry he is in the room. If you notice at one point Rowling makes an effort to mention the 2 broomsticks in the room when snape comes in. The theory im talking about says Dumbledore knew snape saw them and was trying to communicate to him to protect Harry above all else. Then you get the whole running across the field part where Snape basically continues telling harry what he needs to do to beat Voldemort. If Snape is bad then he is the HP equivilant of a Bond villan telling James Bond how hes going to defeat him prior to bond's timley escape.

2) You can stay here, i dont mind. Im sick as a dog right now so that might sway your decision. Ill let you know if im done being sick by friday. Amanda and i wanted to go see HP5 on Friday but if your in town your welcome to come along.
