Nike + Ipod

I went out and bought the Nike IPod Sport Kit this weekend, and took it out for the first run this morning. It's actually really cool to use. It's basically an accelerometer that you slip in your shoe (or attached it with some velcro to the top of my shoe in the case.) It can then tell you how fast you are going, time, distance, etc. It pretty amazing what people can come up with. It's really useful to track yourself without having to go to the gym and just run on a treadmill all the time - or pace yourself around a track. It's pretty cool.

After your run it will tell you how fast you went - and even give you a graph of your pace over the time of your run. Then you can go online and set goals for yourself. Like I want to run a pace faster than xxx 10 times this month or something stupid. You can compare yourself to other people in the world (which is just a bit depressing in my case.)

All in all I would definitely recommend this for anyone would is looking to improve their physical fitness because it can give you quantitiative data about where you are at. I have to say - it's also much cheaper and easier than a gym membership.

I have only done a few things that are useful so far this weekend. Friday night/all day Saturday I puppy sat - which was fun. I got to be a suragent puppy mom - watch cable tv and do my laundry for free. Not a bad thing at all. Plus I get some free lunch out of it. How is this not a good thing?

I still haven't heard anything from Tucson - I'm guessing at this point it's a no even after the whole let's negotiate thing. It's been two weeks - so whatever. I guess I just have to keep looking. It's hard though b/c without some type of solid job offer I don't want to waste more vacation on interviewing since I have to go to some many more weddings and stuff yet this year. Whatevers.

I've got nothing else new or interesting... meh.
