I deserve a pat on the back

I was in super accomplishment mode today - and I deserve a pat on the back. I made a dr's appointment about the whole clam thing. I made an appointment and got measured/ordered the stuff for my Bridesmaid dress for Lauren's wedding. I did my laundry, emptied the dishwasher, & cooked dinner. I know, I know, for some people this would be significantly less than a normal day. For me - it's a large accomplishment all in one day. Usually I'm not this motivated all at once. I'm a major procrastinator. My to-do list is significantly shorter than normal. I guess I just need to find some more things to do about it. I'm also seriously contemplating buying a breadmaker. The Pros: I can make my own bread - in smaller portions so that I can eat it at my own pace and it won't spoil first. I'll know exactly what goes into the bread I eat and will be able to make different kinds of things (IE more variety). I can get one on CL's pretty cheap (

Food Allergy?

I didn't think I was allergic to any food item (and it shows) until this weekend. Friday night I made some really tasty linguine with clam sauce. While I was eating it my mouth was tingling a bit - I thought - this is funny - hmmm. Then when I was finished eating it my lips felt a little odd - so I went to go check it out in a mirror. My lips were swollen with some type of weird rash on some small parts. OMG I think I'm allergic. So of course I google it - and apparently a rash is not all that common of a reaction to an allergy. So now I've got to call my doctor on Monday and get it checked out. I just ate scallops last week and NOTHING. Stupid clams. I don't even like clams THAT much. I'm going to be mad pissed if my doctor says I'm allergic to clams and can't have other shell fish. PISSED! I love shellfish. Though this itchy rash is a little annoying... They running has been going pretty well lately. I'm getting a lot better. Slow but s...

Realization of why the country is so obese

I went to the grocery store yesterday. I bought mostly fresh fruits and veggies, lunch meat and cheese, some chai, a couple bottles of spices, teriaki sauce, minced clams, and frozen peas... out of a total bill of 80.38 - I spent 30.8 on just fresh fruits and veggies (How did I spend the other $50? try sea food, spices (a couple different bottles), chai, lunch meat and cheese, crystal light mix, string cheese....). I can see how poor people don't eat well and go to McDonalds all the time. They can't afford fresh fruits and veggies when a box of Kraft Mac & Cheese is $1.00 -- and I eat $4.50 in just produce a day. (I seriously do eat this much produce when I make my own food - it's really easy if you are actually eating at least two servings of fruit and at 4-5 servings of veggies each day. Do I eat much other than the produce? A little - but after eating all that produce I'm not usually that hungry for stuff that has more fat and protein.) This means that I sp...

Nike + Ipod

I went out and bought the Nike IPod Sport Kit this weekend, and took it out for the first run this morning. It's actually really cool to use. It's basically an accelerometer that you slip in your shoe (or attached it with some velcro to the top of my shoe in the case.) It can then tell you how fast you are going, time, distance, etc. It pretty amazing what people can come up with. It's really useful to track yourself without having to go to the gym and just run on a treadmill all the time - or pace yourself around a track. It's pretty cool. After your run it will tell you how fast you went - and even give you a graph of your pace over the time of your run. Then you can go online and set goals for yourself. Like I want to run a pace faster than xxx 10 times this month or something stupid. You can compare yourself to other people in the world (which is just a bit depressing in my case.) All in all I would definitely recommend this for anyone would is looking to i...

Angry

Nothing makes me more bitter or angry than other people being bitter and angry. Ironic isn't it? I especially hate when people complain about things that they have the power to change. The main problem typically is that the person either doesn't feel like they have the power or they can't figure out a solution. Inevitably - I see both - and this just makes me more angry and bitter that people are wasting my time bitching about something that could easily be change. I complete understand when something is annoying, gross, or just pisses someone off b/c it's just flipping ridiculous. I fully "get" and applaud those who do this type of bitching to try to get it out of their system. I even understand when people have to bitch about it repeatedly b/c one bitch session doesn't get out all their ire. Everyone has their touchy spots. I just hate bitching about the same dumb thing all the time. Especially when people try to bitch as loud as possible so that ...

Honesty?

It would be a beautiful and horrible thing if people were completely honest with each other. Can you imagine? People would never have to guess at work if they were doing a good job or not - you would never have to worry about being good in bed - you would know. Think of international politics if people were really completely honest with each other! The amazing things that could come out of it, the lack of cultural clashes and expectations would be brought tumbling to the ground. It could create mass havoc as well. Can you imagine telling your boss exactly what you thought of him/her? Or perhaps Baby Bush telling the people of the middle east/American people what his true intentions were? Hilarity could ensue in so many situations. Ever been in a car with a group of people - someone farts and everyone looks at each other and denies it? Think of if the rouge admitted it. Would they get kicked out of the car? Would everyone just crack up b/c it would be so unexpected. It migh...
