I'm good...
So, it looks like everything is set for me to interview at this place in Tucson on Monday. (FINALLY!) I got all the travel stuff done flight, hotel, rental car. I've done some research on the company, I've got to do a bit more research on the products and technology yet... but nothing major. Basically I need to pack and print off some stuff to read on the plane. I've even emailed a couple of apartments to set up times to see the places on Sunday. (I'm going to get into Tucson at 10:30am Sunday and won't be leaving until 10:30pm Monday.)
Unfortunately there's a 30% chance of rain on Sunday... but it's still going to be 85!!!! Yeah for warm weather.
I've even set everything up at work for me to call in sick on Monday. I've had a touch of the flul but nothing bad. A little bit of a fever -- maybe like 99.8F tops -- seeing as my normal temp is 96.8F (yes that's right a couple degrees below "normal." I've made it sound way worse than it is though. I must have that thing going around -- you know boss -- the symptoms sound really familiar to what made you sick and you had to take off a sick day last Monday.... *cough* *cough* I'm so sick!
I'm really excited about this position and I hope that I get an offer. Hopefully I don't do something stupid in the interview. The recruiter said they were very excited about me after the phone interview. I hope that excitement turns into a good interview and a solid job offer. The pay would be nice, the sun would be nice, the people seem awesome. I guess I need to ask some really probing questions as to what is bad about the place. There has got to be some downside somewhere -- it all just seems a little too perfect. (Unless dealing with the hellish recruiter for the position the major downside....) My recruiter said she's never had issues like that before. But I'm not sure whether or not to trust her opinion b/c ultimately she just wants me to get an offer and take it so that she can earn her cut -- so I'm taking the comment with a health dose of skepticism.
In other exciting news this week I've discovered the BEST Thai curry ever. If any of you who read this (all three of you...) ever go to a Thai place and they have "Evil Jungle Prince" you totally need to get it. It's absolutely delicious. I just ordered it because the name sounded cool, Evil Jungle Prince Duck. It turned about to be amazingly tasty -- probably one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. Sooo tasty.
I have to say LOST this week really floored me. How would they find the plane and no survivors? That means that they are either in an alternate universe - the Others have hidden it somehow (not very likely) - or that lady is lying (which I don't think so - are you capable of lying when you're delerious and speaking in like 10 different languages -- well okay two.) Was it another Oceanic flight 815 that crashed previously and held the original group of the "Others"??? Was Ben conceived before he got to the island - and he's the last of the original Oceanic 815 survivors? His parents could have died a long time ago -- I mean he's had 30+ years to build their little village. Clearly at some point they would have had to make contact with the outside world -- which is how they got the sub. I guess they had to have either gotten the sub from somewhere or hijacked it from some Russians who got lost at some point. I think this theory is a little too far out there even for LOST...
