Landlords...
Let me prefece this conversation with I went into work two hours late b/c I had to update some stuff in a database after everyone else was done using it. Then after being at work for an hour and a half -- I had to leave for my dentist appointment. Then after everyone else left work (litterally I was the last one there today) I had to spend an hour longer than I had planned updating the damn thing. Then I was mad hungry -- so I picked up dinner and went home. Then the ineveitable happened -- really Murphy's law style:
(22:10:44) Me: my landlord accidentally locked me out of my appartment tonight -- my neighboors had to help me break in through a window
(22:10:53) Joshy: no way
(22:10:55) Joshy: how the hell did he do that
(22:12:01) Me: i have two locks on my appartment door -- and he's never been able to find the keys for both. So when I moved in I only got one of the two keys. Apparently one of the keys he had and wasn't labeled -- was the key to my other lock
(22:12:21) Joshy: lol
(22:12:25) Me: so he locked the lock that i don['t have the key for
(22:12:30) Joshy: so did you break a window, or just break in througnh one
(22:13:19) Me: no -- i had left one of my windows partially cracked -- the sill is like 5+ feet in the air -- and we broke through the screen -- got one of my other neighboors to get a chair and a screwdriver for us --

(22:13:38) Me: we had to use the screw driver to open the latch on the interior shutters(22:13:52) Joshy: well good to know someone can break into your apartment fairly easily(22:14:00) Me: then my neighboor who brought out the chair climbed in my window (because i was still in my work clothes
(22:14:40) Joshy: hats nice of him
(22:14:41) Me: fairly easily if you don't mind being exposed to the street and needing a small ladder to climb in
(22:14:56) Joshy: couldnt you have called trhe landlord?
(22:15:36) Me: all of this b/c the kid above me has a plumbing problem with his sink -- and they need to pull out some pipes -- so they might have to tear up the walls tomorrow to get them out and replace them
(22:16:16) Me: and to make matters worse -- when i first found out that i was locked out I called my landlord's cell -- which he had turned off!

(22:16:54) Me: he had called me earlier in the day b/c he couldn't get in -- and he didn't have the keys -- so he asked me to make him a copy of the keys(22:16:55) Joshy: sounds like you have a quality landlord
(22:17:02) Me: yeah....
(22:17:09) Me: it's pretty "laid back"
(22:17:16) Joshy: the guy doesnt have a copy of the keys to his own building?
(22:17:31) Me: apparently he only has one key to my two locks -- and i have the other(22:17:55) Me: and i have some random key that doesn't work to anything

(22:20:06) Joshy: i feel like the lack of ability to provide me with keys would havbe been a red flag on move in day
(22:20:40) Me: the realtor gave me the keys not the landlord
And that just sums up my day. Amazing!
