Hostage
I really just did not get it today when some old lady held a friendly, abeit ugly, dryer hostage. Clearly there were no dryers left -- or the ones that were left were not functioning properly. You clearly were standing with your little wheely basket in front of the sole dryer that was NOT in use. So I polietly ask "are you using that dryer right now?" You then clearly stated "Yes. I think it is the last one left." Me thinking that you were nuts -- or your wash had just finished -- walked back to get some more of my wet clothes to wait. Did you go get your wash? No. You kept standing there. I walked by again -- "Excuse me do you need that washing machine? I have three more loads I need to dry." You then gainsay me with "I am using it! I got here first." I now realized that you were in fact holding the dryer hostage! Clearly I walked away and when I pasted you again with a large load of wet -- but clean clothes -- glared at you as if you were the lowest thing of the planet -- and you knew it -- and avoided my eyes when I looked at you henceforth. It galls me that you stood in front of that dryer for 18 minutes! (Clearly I kept looking at my watch -- then you stading in front of your dryer -- and you could not look back at me because you knew how folish you were being.) Even though there were three people waiting to more dryers (because the dumb, slow, cheap guy would sort through his clothes to figure otu which ones were dry -- then combine the damp clothes from two dryers into one -- and put one! more quarter in to dry them).
We solute you clothes dryer hostage lady -- with our guns clearly pointed at you intead of the sky.... just as a reminder to be kind to those in the future and wait in line like the rest of us. It is not kind to hold the sole working dryer in the laundrymat hostage for 20 minutes while you wait for your clothes to wash -- my clothes would have dryed in that time. Shame on you.
