The Story of a Girl at a Gas Station

So yesterday when driving home my gas light went on... utt ohhh better get gas. So I went to an unfamilar gas station because it was close. Unknowingly I had chosen a station that did not have "Pay-at-the-Pump". This was really confusing because how do you pay for stuff without a credit-card. I never carry any cash.

And of course you had to "Pay first". So the conversation went as follow (in a heavy Indian accent).

Me: Hi, I'd like to pay with a credit card, I have the black car
Him: What do you want.
Me: Gas...
Him: How much money?
Me: I haven't pumped yet.
Him: How much you want?
Me: Ummm enough to fill the tank
Him: How much you spend?
Me: However much it costs to fill the tank
Him (clearly exasperated with me): Just go pump, then come back.
Me (run outside in drizzle and pump gas, run back in): Okay I'm done. Sorry I was really confused I don't remember how to do it without pay at the pump.
Him: I remember you, next time you just pump first.
Me: Thanks!

I didn't know that gas stations existed without PATP. Who knew? I guess I'd never survive in a rural area without these things. I mean who carries cash around? Seriously!

Ive taken to not buying things from stores that dont accept credit cards. For gas stations that means that if they dont have PATP i drive to the next station. For restaurants (fast food) many times ive gone in and been like, "do you take credit cards" they say no i say oh well later and walk out.

At this point when even mcdonalds is taking cards everyone should be.

Yeah, I don't usually either, but my gas light was on, and I wasn't in a ober populated area, and had little choice. It really sucked. Note to self: get gas more often.
